Autism Services
We provide neurodiversity-affirming care for adults on the spectrum, including comprehensive evaluations, personalized treatment, and medication management. Our approach honors your sensory needs, communication style, and lived experiences. Whether you're seeking a diagnosis or ongoing support, you’ll receive care that is knowledgeable, respectful, and tailored to you.
1
Medication Management
People on the spectrum often respond differently to medications. This isn’t because something is “wrong”—it’s because most providers aren’t trained to recognize the nuances of autistic experiences. Symptoms that may look like depression, anxiety, or irritability are often burnout, sensory overload, or communication fatigue. In addition, many autistic adults have heightened internal and external sensory sensitivities, which can make them more prone to side effects.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to medication. Dr. Smith invests significant time researching neurochemistry and the psychopharmacology behind every medication she prescribes. For those who would benefit from additional insight, she also offers GENESIGHT psychotropic genetic testing to better understand how your genetics may influence medication responses and outcomes.
2
Adult Autism Assessment and Diagnosis
Adult assessments begin with an initial intake visit where we review your physical and mental health history, past medications, and current concerns. From there, Dr. Smith will determine which type of evaluation is the best fit for your needs. She is trained to administer the MIGDAS-2, ADOS-2, and ADI-R.
The testing appointment is scheduled separately from the follow-up visit, during which Dr. Smith will go over your results, answer questions, and discuss an initial plan tailored to you.
3
Holistic Treatment
Not everyone wants or needs medication. Lifestyle adjustments, supportive therapies, and targeted supplements can also play an important role. Dr. Smith will work with you to create a personalized plan that aligns with your needs and comfort level.

Ongoing Care
Consistent support is essential—especially when your needs are complex and ever-evolving. You deserve a provider who responds when you need them and who takes the time to truly understand you. Ongoing care allows us to build that relationship, learn your patterns, adjust treatment as life shifts, and make sure you never feel like you’re navigating things alone.
